COVID-19 cases - Weekly review: 26 July - 1 August
For the week of 26 July to 1 August, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has decreased, for the 4th week in a row, from 566 to 439 cases (-22%), as well as the number of their identified close contacts, which dropped to 1,065, compared to 1,599 cases the week before (-33%).

Launch of COVID-19 vaccination in private medical offices
During the week of 2 August, the first vaccinations will be offered in the offices of general practitioners and paediatricians.

Continuation of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign for homeless people
After a first vaccination campaign for the homeless on 1 and 2 June 2021 at the "Wanteraktioun" premises, said campaign by the mobile teams of the Directorate of Health was been extended in order to reach a maximum number of people in very precarious situations who, for health reasons, geographical distance or other reasons, were unable to visit the "Wanteraktioun" premises.

For the week of 12 to 18 July, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has decreased from 829 to 727 cases (-12%), as well as the number of their identified close contacts, which dropped to 2,431, compared to 2,890 cases the week before (-16%).

For the week of 5 to 11 July, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 has increased from 787 to 828 cases (+5%), as did the number of their identified close contacts, which rose to 2,890, compared to 2,228 cases the week before (+30%).

Vaccination with a combination of two different COVID-19 vaccines - "mix&match"
Following the recommendations of the Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses - CSMI), the Government Council, which met today, decided to adapt its vaccination strategy in order to allow heterologous vaccination (sometimes called "mix and match").

Press release in relation to the extension of the health measures for all travel from the United Kingdom to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
In view of the circulation of mutated strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the transmissibility of which seems to be increased, and in particular the spread of the so-called "delta" variant (B.1.617.2), the additional sanitary measures applicable to all travel from the United Kingdom to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg have been extended until 15 July 2021 inclusive.

During the week from 21 to 27 June, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 continued to increase slightly from 90 to 107 (+19%), while the number of their identified close contacts decreased from 396 cases the previous week to 353 (-11.1%).

Invitations for COVID-19 vaccination launched for adolescents aged 12-17 years, with priority given to the most vulnerable
The first invitations for vaccination against the coronavirus will be sent out this week to adolescents aged between 12 and 17, starting with the oldest.

During the week from 14 to 20 June and for the 12th week in a row, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 continued to decrease significantly from 189 to 90 (-52.3%).

Vaccination with a combination of two different COVID-19 vaccines
A number of EU Member States apply a vaccination strategy involving the administration of a second dose of a different COVID-19 vaccine from that used for the first dose.
