  1. On the occasion of World Organ Donor Day, celebrated every year on 17 October, the Ministry of Health and the Luxembourg Transplant association, the official body for managing donations and transplants in Luxembourg, are renewing their efforts to raise awareness of organ donation.

  2. Breastfeeding Week takes place in Luxembourg from 2 to 8 October, with this year's theme focusing on breastfeeding at work. In line with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Ministry of Health is reiterating that breastfeeding at work is a right, and that it is in the interests of employers to ensure that breastfeeding and work can be reconciled.

Following the recommendations of the Higher Council for Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses, CSMI), the Ministry of Health has announced the introduction in Luxembourg of a treatment to prevent lower respiratory tract infections caused by the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in newborns and infants.

  4. As the winter season approaches, the risk of contracting acute respiratory infections increases. These infections can be particularly dangerous for vulnerable persons. It is therefore important to prevent the transmission of viruses through protective measures such as vaccination.
