COVID-19 cases - Weekly review: 26 April - 2 May
During the week from 26 April to 2 May, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 continued to decrease slightly from 1,231 to 1,119 (-9%), while the number of their identified close contacts increased from 2,517 cases the previous week to 2,967 (+18%).

The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Health wish to inform of the new additional health measures applicable from 1 May 2021 until 15 May 2021 inclusive, for all travel from India to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Procedure for people who wish to be voluntarily vaccinated with the Vaxzevria vaccine
As decided by the Government Council on 16 April, people aged between 30 and 54 will have the opportunity to register online on a list and express their interest in being voluntarily vaccinated with Vaxzevria (formerly Astra Zeneca).

Open waiting list for people who did not make an appointment during the phase 4 of the vaccination campaign
People who have been invited to be vaccinated in the 4th phase of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 (age 65-69) and who have not made an appointment during this period, will nevertheless have the opportunity to be vaccinated in a vaccination centre at a later stage.

The Superior Council of Infectious Diseases issues a new opinion on the conditions of administration of AstraZeneca's Vaxzevria vaccine against COVID-19
In its opinion of 16 April, the Superior Council of Infectious Diseases (Conseil supérieur des maladies infectieuses - CSMI) takes a position on the conditions of administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine, now called Vaxzevria, in the light of the recent opinion of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) on the subject and the restrictions on its use according to age.

Free PCR tests for travellers arriving at Lux-Airport
From 9 April, all travellers arriving in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg by air will again be able to benefit from a free PCR test at Findel airport.

During the week from 29 March to 4 April, the number of people testing positive for COVID-19 decreased from 1,685 to 1,544 (-8.4%), while the number of their identified close contacts also decreased from 4,129 cases the previous week to 3,464 (-16.1%).
